The final qualifying round of the Freeride World Qualifier (FWQ) will be held on February 12 at the Tetnuldi resort, hosted for the first time in Georgia.
Between February 8-11, the FWQ hosted a smaller two-star competition, while a larger, four-star competition will be held on tomorrow. About 120 winter sports athletes from 20 countries will participate in it, including Georgian rider Shako Margiani.
Mountain Resorts of Georgia said a successful hosting of the event would enable Georgia to hold the Freeride World Tour, a higher level contest, in the future.
The event is organised by the Mountain Resorts Development Company with the support of the USAID Economic Security Programme, Mestia Municipality City Hall, Svaneti Destination Management Organisation Shan Land and the National Tourism Administration.
