Georgia’s State Minister visits China 

The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality of Georgia, Tea Akhvlediani, paid an official visit to the People’s Republic of China at the invitation of the National Commission for Ethnic Affairs. The visit aimed to strengthen further cooperation between the two countries in ethnic policy and civil integration.

According to the Office of the State Minister, Akhvlediani held high-level meetings with Chen Ruifeng, Minister of the National Commission for Ethnic Affairs; Bayanqolu, Chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress; as well as the leadership of Minzu University and the National Museum of Ethnic Cultures.

During the meetings, the sides discussed approaches, shared future priorities, and explored new opportunities for cooperation based on the principles relevant to both countries. Ambassador of Georgia to China, Paata Kalandadze, also attended the meetings.

The Ministry said that a delegation from China’s National Commission for Ethnic Affairs visited Georgia in 2023 to familiarise themselves with Georgia’s civil equality and integration policies.
