Georgia’s Maritime Transport Agency hosts WB and ADB delegation at Poti Port
Director of Georgia’s Maritime Transport Agency Ivane Abashidze held a working meeting with representatives of the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the Port of Poti.
According to the Maritime Transport Agency, Abashidze introduced the delegation to the port’s existing infrastructure and operational capabilities. The parties also discussed current challenges facing Georgia’s maritime sector and the importance of cooperation in addressing them.
“As part of their visit, representatives of the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank will also inspect the construction of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port. The visit will be important in terms of potential support from international financial institutions for the Anaklia project and their possible future involvement in its development,” the statement reads.
