Georgia’s geospatial information reforms featured at UN Global Session

Georgia’s ongoing reforms in geospatial information management were presented at the 16th session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM), where Deputy Minister of Justice Tamar Zodelava is representing the country. Alongside delegates from the National Agency of Public Registry, the Deputy Minister outlined Georgia’s strategic vision and successful sector reforms to an international audience.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the event’s thematic sessions provided a platform for the Georgian delegation to present the nation’s digital transformation results and innovative tools implemented in land and real estate administration.

The UN Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management serves as a premier international platform in geospatial data governance. Its annual sessions convene delegates from member state public authorities, international bodies, academic institutions, and leading sector experts. The initiative aims to foster effective management and application of geospatial information, strengthen global cooperation, and support the implementation of the UN Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (UN-IGIF).

Participation in the Committee session offers Georgia a key opportunity to consolidate its international standing in geospatial data management, establish new professional links with partner states and sector specialists, and adopt cutting-edge international practices.
