In January-September 2022, the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $13 612.2 million, 35.3 % higher to the same period of 2021, National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat) reported on Wednesday.
The exports totalled $4 097.2 million (37.4 % higher), while the imports reached $ 9 515.0 million (34.4% higher). The negative trade balance was $5 417.8 million in January-September 2022 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 39.8 %.
The share of the top ten trading partners by exports amounted to 79.7 %. The top partners were China ($574.8 million), Azerbaijan ($488.6 million) and Russia ($473.2 million).
The share of the top ten trading partners by imports reached 67.1 %. The top partners were Turkey ($1 681.8 million), Russia ($1 243.6 million) and China ($ 829.3 million), the GeoStat noted.
