Georgian wounded servicemen prepare for 2023 Invictus Games

The Ministry of Defense of Georgia has reported that a team of wounded and injured servicemen is actively preparing for the Invictus Games 2023.

These servicemen are undergoing training in various sports at the rehabilitation center named after Maro Makhashvili in Tserovani. Georgia will be represented by 20 para-athletes at the Invictus Games which will take place from September 7 to 17 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

During the games, the wounded servicemen will compete in two team and six individual sports alongside 500 wounded and injured servicemen from 22 countries. The sports include archery, swimming, weightlifting, athletics, sitting volleyball, para-basketball, table tennis, and rowing on exercise equipment.

The Invictus Games have been held in various countries since 2014 under the patronage of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. Georgia’s participation has consistently resulted in highest medals for the team.
