Georgian, Turkish FMs meet in NY

Georgian and Turkish Foreign Ministers, Ilia Darchiashvili and Mevlut Cavusoglu, on Friday, held a meeting on the sidelines of the UNGA 77th session in New York.

The pair reviewed the current agenda of the Georgia-Turkey strategic partnership, as well as the high-level visits between the two countries, and their upshots, the Georgian MFA noted.

The duo also covered the current security environment in the region and stressed the importance of stability and peace for the region’s sustainable development, the MFA went on.

Turkey’s strong support for Georgia was emphasized during the meeting, while FM Darchiashvili thanked his colleague for Turkey’s cooperation during fire extinguishing works in the Borjomi Gorge,” the MFA added.
