Georgian State Electrosystem: Power outage affects nation; restoration work underway

At approximately 00:10 today, an emergency power outage occurred nationwide. Restoration efforts are currently underway, and power supply to consumers is being restored in phases, with full restoration expected shortly, according to a statement released by the Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE).

GSE noted that electricity has already been partially restored to the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region and a significant portion of Tbilisi.

“Disinformation is currently circulating regarding the cause of the power outage. We urge news outlets to rely solely on official information and refrain from spreading unverified claims,” the Georgian State Electrosystem stated.

“Concurrently, work is underway to establish the precise cause of the fault, and further updates will be provided to the public in due course,” GSE added.
