Georgian sailors kidnapped in Gabon's territorial waters

Three sailors, including two Georgians, were kidnapped from a ship in Gabon’s territorial waters on Tuesday, the Maritime Transport Agency reported.

The agency has already contacted and informed the family in detail.

“According to information received from the Georgian consulate in South Africa, three sailors, including two Georgians, were kidnapped from a ship anchored in Gabonese territorial waters on May 2 at night. The sailors that remain on board are safe. The Maritime Transport Agency, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is actively working to liberate sailors,” the Maritime Transport Agency said in a statement.
