Georgian Revenue Service reports on tight customs control over sanctioned goods

The Revenue Service of Georgian Finance Ministry declares that any type of goods, including the military or dual designation, or any product on the sanctions list, is subject to tight control at the Georgian customs.

Tax authorities clarify that the re-export of sanctioned goods imported from Russia and Belarus or vice versa is subject to tight controls.

“The Customs Department controls any operations sanctioned individuals or companies may carry that out,” the state institution stated Friday.

“The Revenue Service reiterates the tightened customs control of military or dual designation goods and other sanctioned products transported through Georgia,” the statement reads.

The Revenue Service calls on everyone, including representatives of non-governmental organizations, to halt disseminating false information and notes that the agency will counter each violation per law.
