Georgian reports 4,581 coronavirus cases, 2,494 recoveries, 28 deaths 

Georgia reported 4,581 coronavirus cases, 2,494 recoveries, and 28 deaths on October 17, the official figures show.

46,123 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours throughout the country. Among them, 24,852 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 21,271 were PCR tests.

The daily test-positivity rate stands at 9,93%, while 8,99% in the past seven days.

Georgian capital Tbilisi recorded the highest number of 1,525 Covid-19 cases within the last 24 hours, followed by the Kakheti region with 878 cases, and the Imereti region with 876 cases.

Georgia’s total case tally reached 662,334, among them, 612,481 people recovered and 9,468 died.

There are 61 people placed in government-assigned quarantine facilities, 5,337 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, 984 asymptomatic, and mild symptom patients are being treated at government-assigned treatment facilities.

Currently, out of 1,193 critical patients, 266 require mechanical ventilation.

As of today, 1,911,877 people got the coronavirus vaccine, with 4,681 in a day.
