Georgian Public Broadcaster awards winners of online Olympiad “Our Georgian Language”
Georgian Public Broadcaster awarded winners of the online Olympiad “Our Georgian Language” announced for Armenian and Azerbaijani 7th-grader school pupils.
Special prizes went to both the pupils and teachers of Georgian language and literature. About 200 school students expressed the willingness to take part in the Olympiad. The 44 pupils qualified for the final round. The project was carried out with support of US Embassy in Georgia.
Vasil Maghlaperidze, General Director of Georgian Public Broadcaster wished success to the winners and participants of the competition and talked about the project’s importance. He said that the project aimed at “popularization of Georgian language in the regions resided by representatives of ethnic minorities.”
Tinatin Berdzenishvili, First Deputy General Director thanked US Embassy for funding the online Olympiad and underlined that Georgian Public Broadcaster would ensure continuation of the project with its own resources in the future.
The online Olympiad “Our Georgian Language” for Armenian and Azerbaijani 7th-grader school pupils began on June 4, 2020.
