Georgian President meeting with President of Cyprus at State Ceremonies Palace
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili is meeting with President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades at Avlabari State Ceremonies Palace. This is the first visit of President of Cyprus to Georgia.
A sitting in expanded format will take place after the face-to-face meeting. Joint statements will be made for the media. National anthems were performed during the welcoming ceremony. The sides presented state delegations to each other.
The Cypriot governmental delegation includes President’s Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou, Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides, Ambassador Plenipotentiary of Cyprus to Georgia, Deputy Head of President’s Diplomatic Service.
Bilateral relations, investments and trade-related issues will be discussed. Strengthening ties of Georgia with the European Union will be also considered within the framework of the visit.
Meetings with Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze and Chairman of Parliament Irakli Kobakhidze are also scheduled for today.
Within the frameworks of the official visit, the President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades and his spouse Andri Anastasiades will meet Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.
The Georgia-Cyprus business forum is also scheduled to take place and the Presidents of the two countries, along with business representatives, will attend it.
