Georgian President: I do not comment on domestic affairs abroad

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili, who is holding high-level meetings in Italy, did not comment on the Public Defender’s call for Nika Gvaramia’s pardon.

“I do not make statements about domestic affairs abroad and especially pardon, which is my discretion, and I do not make comments,” the President told GPB First Channel.

Earlier today, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria said the court’s reasoning over Nika Gvaramia’s case is “unfounded in terms of both conviction and sentencing.” She said she would address Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili to exercise her power to pardon.
