Georgian President Salome Zourabishvili, on Monday, hosted the speakers of parliaments of Slovakia, Austria, and the Czech Republic at the Orbeliani palace.

According to the President’s press office, the visit emphasizes the significance of the countries’ relations.

“The meeting discussed the EU candidate status, Georgia’s progress in implementing EC recommendations, and the challenges that this entails.

Georgia cannot accept a second denial over candidate status, according to the President as Georgia’s European integration is backed by more than 80% of the population and is founded on our values, history, struggle, and future vision.

The importance of the Slovak, Austrian, and Czech Republic’s robust support at this critical stage was emphasized.

The conversation touched on the ongoing war in Ukraine, and it was noted that it is a fundamental challenge to European security, with international solidarity serving as the primary weapon against Russia,” according to the statement.
