Georgian President departs for Switzerland

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili departed for Switzerland to attend the Ukrainian Peace Summit, the President’s Administration reported.

The President of Georgia will participate in the opening of the summit, which will be attended by delegations from 100 countries including 57 heads of state from the world.

The summit aims to outline the fair and long-term peace process and initiatives for further steps. The summit program includes both plenary sessions and discussions.

Switzerland will host scores of leaders on June 15-16 at a lakeside resort near Lucerne to try and outline the first steps toward achieving peace in Ukraine, even though Russia, which launched the war, isn’t attending. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s government didn’t want Russia involved.
