Georgian Post unveils new stamps honoring Anzor Erkomaishvili and Tamar Mamaladze
The Georgian Post has issued postage stamps dedicated to the public figure and folklorist Anzor Erkomaishvili and the first Georgian female ethnomusicologist Tamar Mamaladze.
The stamps were released at the initiative of the State Center for Folklore and are supported by the Ministries of Culture and Economy and Sustainable Development.
The presentation was attended by Tinatin Rukhadze, Minister of Culture.
“Today, we once again remembered the great Georgian ethnographers – Mr. Anzor Erkomaishvili and Ms. Tamar Mamaladze. They made an outstanding contribution to the preservation and study of Georgian folklore. I thank the Georgian Post and the Ministry of Economy for making it possible to honor the memory of these remarkable individuals in another form – through a postage stamp,” said Tinatin Rukhadze.
