Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili will visit Azerbaijan today. He will meet with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at Zagulba Palace. Aliyev will also host Garibashvili and members of the Georgian delegation at a working dinner later today.
As part of the visit, Garibashvili will participate in a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic issues, chaired by prime ministers of Georgia and Azerbaijan. The two countries will sign memorandums of cooperation following the meeting.
Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani said the commission meeting would focus on sectoral cooperation and the significant joint Georgia-Azerbaijan energy projects.
FM Zalkaliani added that the parties would also review the trade-economic relations and the existing infrastructure for transport and logistics.
The PM-led delegation includes Deputy PM, Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava, and head of government administration Ilia Darchiashvili.
