Georgian PM to attand UNGA 77th session

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, together with the delegation, left for the United States on Sunday.

The PM will address the participants of the general debate of the 77th session of the General Assembly, the government’s press office has said.

As part of his visit, Garibashvili will hold bilateral, high-level meetings there.

The PM-led Georgian delegation includes Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, Education Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli and Head of Government Administration Revaz Javelidze.

The UNGA 77th session opened on 13 September, with the top-tier debate running from Tuesday, 20 September to Monday, 26 September.

This year’s theme, “A watershed moment: transformative solutions to interlocking challenges”, acknowledges the shared roots of crises such as COVID-19, climate change and conflict, and the need for solutions that build global sustainability and resilience.
