Georgian PM says major infrastructure upgrades planned for Gudauri, including artificial snowmaking systems across ski slopes

“Major development projects are planned for Gudauri, including equipping ski slopes with artificial snowmaking systems across a total length of 7,500 metres, along with the installation of two new drag lifts in the snowpark area,” the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, announced during today’s cabinet meeting.

According to the Prime Minister, plans are also in place to equip the new Gudaura slope with floodlights for night skiing.

“I would like to highlight Gudauri in particular, where we are actively preparing for the upcoming winter season. Significant projects are scheduled for implementation ahead of this season. These include equipping ski slopes with artificial snowmaking systems across a total length of 7.5 kilometres. We also plan to install two new drag lifts spanning a combined 1,400 metres in the snowpark area.

Additionally, a 200-metre covered magic carpet lift will be installed for children. Alongside these initiatives, we plan to construct two new six-kilometre-long ski slopes. Furthermore, the new Gudaura slope is to be equipped with night lighting. All of these works are scheduled for the upcoming winter season and must be completed by December,” the Prime Minister stated.
