Georgian PM participates in high-level panel discussion on Peace within 81st Session of UNGA

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze participated in a high-level panel discussion on Peace organized by Finland and its President Alexander Stubb, within the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

According to the Government Administration, at the panel discussion, “Reinforcing the Promise of Peace by Leveraging Available Opportunities,” leaders reviewed ways to prevent and peacefully resolve conflicts and emphasized the necessity of upholding the principles of international law.

The PM focused on the occupation of 20 per cent of Georgia’s territory and noted that Georgia has experienced firsthand the consequences of disregarding the norms of international law.

Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized the significance of respect for the country’s sovereignty and emphasized the need of the international community’s joint efforts and more effective use of diplomatic tools to overcome common challenges.
