Georgian PM meets with farmers in village Nikozi

“The coronavirus pandemic is a “blow” for tourism and the agricultural sector,” the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, said during the meeting in village Nikozi with farmers of Shida Kartli region.

Georgian PM said that “the agricultural sector had plans to grow an apple, nut, grape, wine, cucumber and tomato, all of which were intended for tourists who could not come.”

“We understand that agriculture is a field that needs help as when all this is restored, we will have to be ready again,” said Giorgi Gakharia.

Giorgi Gakharia noted that “the responsible government’s task is to allocate the resources that a small country has as fairly as possible to everyone who needs it.”

PM added that “the budget for agricultural aid is about 300 million.”
