Georgian PM meets U.S. Under Secretary Uzra Zeya

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Uzra Zeya, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights.

According to the government’s press office, the conversation focused on the US-Georgia strategic partnership and years-long successful cooperation across a variety of areas, as well as the challenges arising in the recent period.

The Prime Minister confirmed the Georgian Government’s commitment to rejuvenating bilateral relations, pointing out the special importance attached in this process to reciprocal steps and pragmatic, rational, and fair approaches.

One of the topics discussed in the meeting involved the upcoming parliamentary elections and the country’s electoral environment. The Prime Minister emphasized that free, fair, and transparent elections, and a pluralistic electoral environment meeting international standards, will be ensured once again.
