Georgian PM meets Portuguese Defence Minister

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Helena Carreiras, Portuguese National Defense Minister.

According to the government’s press office, the parties discussed the dynamic of a partnership and the prospects of deepening the ongoing cooperation.

“Emphasis was placed on the importance of Portugal’s support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. According to the Prime Minister, granting the European perspective to Georgia has reiterated that Georgia’s future is in the EU.

The Head of Government thanked the National Defense Minister of the Portuguese Republic for firmly supporting Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The conversation touched on the regional and global security environment and challenges,” reads the press statement.
