Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Ian Borg, OSCE Chair-in-Office/Malta’s Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade.
According to the government’s press office, the Head of Government emphasized the importance of Borg’s visit and reaffirmed his commitment to continuous cooperation with the OSCE throughout Malta’s chairmanship.
“The conversation touched on this year’s upcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia. According to the Head of Government, Georgia’s authorities give top priority to holding transparent, free, and fair elections and are ready once again to facilitate broad engagement on the part of international observers, including representatives of OSCE institutions.
Special attention in the meeting was paid to bilateral relations with Malta. The Prime Minister thanked the Maltese side for supporting Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-recognition policy in various OSCE formats,” reads the statement.
