Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General.

According to the Government Administration, the conversation in the meeting at the Government Administration focused on Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration, the agenda of NATO-Georgia relations, and prospects of future cooperation.

It was noted that integration into NATO-enshrined in the country’s Constitution is a foreign policy priority for Georgia as a NATO aspirant country.

Attention was paid to Black Sea security and the importance of stability in the Black Sea Region for ensuring common Euro-Atlantic security.

The Prime Minister thanked the Secretary General of NATO for his support and personal effort on the path to integration into the Alliance, also for strongly supporting Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-recognition policy.

The meeting at the Government Administration was attended by the First Deputy Director of the Private Office of the Secretary General of NATO, Lorenz Meyer-Minnemann, the Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy/NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Javier Colomina, the Acting NATO Spokesperson, Dylan White, the Deputy Director of the Private Office of the Secretary General of NATO, Inga Wegner, the Head of the NATO Liaison Office, Alexander Vinnikov, and the Desk Officer for Georgia/Representative of the NATO Political Affairs and Security Policy Division, Steffen Elgersma.

The Georgian side at the meeting was represented by the Deputy Prime Minister/Defense Minister of Georgia, Irakli Chikovani, the Foreign Minister of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, the Head of the Government Administration, Levan Zhorzholiani, and the Ambassador of Georgia to NATO, Victor Dolidze.
