Georgian PM: Kartli Textile to employ 4,000 Rustavi residents next year

The primary task for the Georgian government today is to maintain existing jobs rather than to create new ones, said the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, in his speech at the opening of a new Kartli Textile enterprise in Rustavi.

According to PM, this enterprise would employ 4,000 Rustavi residents by the end of next year.

The enterprise is built by Turkish investment and would employ 4,000 people in Rustavi and Gardabani. 90 percent of the employees in the enterprise would be women.

The state sold a land plot to the Kartli Textile company for the construction of a garment factory with a building placed on it at a symbolic price of one Georgian Lari. The enterprise is a beneficiary of the state Produce in Georgia program. 20 million GEL was invested in the construction of the enterprise, including 10 million GEL as a loan within the Produce in Georgia program.

Adjara Textile has been cooperating with world-famous brands for years, including Nike, ADIDAS, Lotto, Erima, New Balance, and Under Armor. The company is 100 percent export-oriented and annually produces and exports more than 15,000,000 units of products.
