Georgian PM hosts Azerbaijani President

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

At the face-to-face meeting, the duo discussed the special friendly relations and strategic partnership between Georgia and the Azerbaijan, the government’s press office has said.

The pair alsoreviewed high level strategic partnership, active political dialogue, as well as intensive cooperation in the domains of trade and economy.

Irakli Garibashvili pointed out that peace and stability in the region ensure steady economic development. It was noted that Georgia and Azerbaijan enjoy close cooperation in the area of foreign policy, joining efforts to work on overcoming existing challenges.

The parties expressed commitment to furthering the bilateral political, economic, cultural, and other ties between the two countries.

The conversation also touched on the regional and global security environments.
