Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan today.
According to the government’s press office, the duo focused on the ‘strong, strategic partnership and centuries’ old kind neighborly relations between the two countries.”
“The discussion touched upon the regional projects. It was noted that according to the data of January-September 2023, Azerbaijan is the 5th largest trade partner of Georgia. Prospects of intensified cooperation were discussed at the meeting towards attracting foreign direct investments (FDI).
Irakli Garibashvili also noted that with close cooperation with Azerbaijan Georgia stands ready to deepen regional cooperation in mutually interesting areas of energy security. Dignitaries discussed the significance of tripartite cooperation between Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan,” reads the press statement.
The Head of Government expressed gratitude to his colleague for the ‘solid and unwavering’ support towards the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, as well as for the non-recognition policy. At the same time, Irakli Garibashvili expressed unwavering support of Georgia towards the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Focus was also made on the significance of establishing peace and stability in the region.
