PM Garibashvili and EU High Representative Borrell meet in Brussels

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell in Brussels.

PM Garibashvili stressed the significance of Georgia’s application for EU membership, filling in the questionnaire, and future actions. In addition, the parties discussed the dynamics of intensive cooperation between Georgia and the European Union in recent years and highlighted Georgia’s progress in implementing economic, political, and democratic reforms.

Georgia’s PM and EU High Representative spoke about the security environment and the situation caused by Russian military aggression in Ukraine. The Prime Minister thanked the EU High Representative for his firm support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

“Held a productive meeting with Josep Borrell. Had a chance to discuss current dramatic geopolitical shifts in the region and reaffirm Georgia’s commitment to its European integration process. Grateful for EU’s continuous support for this cause,” PM Garibashvili tweeted.
