Georgian PM extends condolences to Israel for the Mount Meron tragedy
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is deeply saddened by the disaster that took people’s lives at Mount Meron in Israel.
“On behalf of the Georgian people and the government of Georgia, my heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the deceased and wishing speedy recovery to those injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Israel,” PM tweeted.
At least 45 people died, and more than 150 people hurt in a stampede after midnight Thursday at a mass gathering to celebrate the Lag B’Omer holiday at Mount Meron in Israel. Sunday will be declared a day of national mourning.
