Georgian PM congratulates French people on Independence Day

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili congratulated French people on Independence Day, saying “July 14 marks the freedom, equality and unity of France.”

In his address to the Independence Day-dedicated event, the Prime Minister continued: “Taking the Bastille is a major event, both for France and for the rest of the world.”

Garibashvili emphasized the close and long-term partnership between Georgia and France, praising the French people for the “decisive role” they played during the 2008 war.

“France has always stood by the Georgian people at critical junctures in our history, including the most painful. Let me once again convey our sincere gratitude to the French people for decisive role they played during the 2008 war.

Georgia values France’s assistance in the irreversible process of our country’s integration into the European Union and NATO, which is the Georgian people’s choice.”
