Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia talked to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky over the phone.
According to the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, Georgian PM expressed condolence about the crash of the Ukrainian jetliner in Iran and condoled to the families of victims of the tragedy. Gakharia told Zelensky that Georgia was ready to provide any kind of assistance to Ukraine.
President of Ukraine said that it was necessary to conduct an objective investigation to determine the exact causes of the tragedy and claimed that Ukrainian investigators were already involved in the process.
“Ukraine and Georgia have always been side-by-side in the difficult moments of history. Grateful to Giorgi Gakharia for the support and condolences” – President of Ukraine wrote on Twitter.
On January 8, Ukrainian Boeing 737 crashed two minutes after taking off from Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran, killing all 167 passengers on board and 9 members of the crew.
