Georgian parliament delegation among first to pay solidarity visit to Ukraine
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili says, “Russian military aggression against Ukraine is of particular concern.”
“Georgia strongly supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders,” the Speaker said while presenting the 2021 annual report of the parliament’s activities.
“Moreover, the Georgian Parliament’s delegation was one of the first to visit its Ukrainian counterparts in Kyiv to express its support after the start of the Russian aggression. The Georgian Parliament was also one of the first to pass a resolution on a potential military escalation in Ukraine before the war.
I once again express my full solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people and wish them peace,” Papuashvili asserted.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the Cabinet members and the Ambassadors are attending the session.
