The Georgian Orthodox Church marks Apostle Andrew, the Holy and All-Praised First-Called day on May 12.

The Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called was the first of the Apostles to follow Christ, and he later brought his own brother, the holy Apostle Peter, to Christ

The Apostle Andrew the First-Called Day is celebrated twice annually – on 12 May, marking his arrival in Georgia, and on 13 December, commemorating his death.

The Holy Synod of the Georgian Orthodox Church declared 12 May a national religious holiday in December 2018.
