Georgian Orthodox Church marks Saint George Day on November 23. Solemn church services are delivered at all churches in Georgia.

St. George is one of the most venerated saints in Georgia, and his day, known as St. George’s Day (or Giorgoba) is a public holiday.

St. George Day is marked twice a year: on November 23, when he was tortured and on May 6, when he died.
