Georgian Muslims celebrated Ramadan Bayram in Batumi Central Mosque
After a month of fasting, Georgian Muslims celebrated Ramadan Bayram. Georgian Mufti Adam Shantadze held a festive prayer in the central mosque of Batumi. They performed the prayer by observing social distancing and wearing masks.
Since March 19, group prayers in mosques have been suspended. A Muslim congregation gathered for the first time during the pandemic on the feast of Bairam. Some of them prayed in the street again.
“I would like to congratulate all Muslims on the greatest holiday of Bairam. I thank the parishioners for such an organized action. Thank God, the situation has changed for the better, and all believers have the opportunity to gather. God bless all of Georgia, the whole world, Friday prayers will continue in mosques in accordance with corresponding rules” – Georgian Mufti Adam Shantadze stated.
