Georgian MFA: Switzerland, as mediator between Georgia and Russia, expresses readiness to make active efforts for de-escalation

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia David Zalkaliani met with the Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation Ignazio Cassis.

At the meeting, the sides discussed the situation in the occupied regions of Georgia and recent developments taking place along the occupation line.

The Swiss side emphasized the importance of communication, maximum engagement and joint efforts for further de-escalation of the process.

In addition, the Swiss side, as the mediator between Georgia and Russia, expresses readiness to make active efforts to de-escalate the situation.
