Georgian MFA: Athens summit focused on war, not enlargement

A Georgian Foreign Ministry statement on Monday said the Athens summit, attended by Ukraine and Moldova, was focused on the war and not enlargement.

As the Director for European Integration, Archil Karaulashvili explained, the non-EU summit was informal.

“Moldova has been impacted most by this war. In general, Ukraine and Moldova are invited to war-related events,” Karaulashvili said.

His remark follows the opposition’s assertion that Georgia should have participated in the said meeting.
