Georgian Law on Labour Migration has been amended. The Ministry of Health said the amendments aim to protect the rights of Georgian citizens seeking jobs abroad as well as foreign citizens employed in Georgia.
Facilitator companies, which assist Georgian citizens in finding jobs overseas, will have to be mandatory certified. Also, Georgian citizens employed abroad will be registered in a relevant online system.
The Labor Inspection will monitor the implementation of the law and its enforcement.
Tamila Barkalaia, Deputy Health Minister, who introduced the amendments to the facilitator companies, stressed that the government will cooperate with the private sector to ensure transparency of the processes.
The amendments to the Law on Labour Migration will enact from September 1, 2023.
