Georgian judoka secures third consecutive world champion title

On the third day of the World Championship in Abu Dhabi, reigning world and European champion Tato Grigalashvili (81 kg) claimed his third consecutive world title by defeating Russian athlete Timur Arbuzov in the final.

In the same weight category, Dimitri Gochilaidze competed in the final block but lost the bronze medal match to Tajik judoka Makhmadbekov.

So far, the Georgian national team has secured two medals at the World Championships: 20-year-old Giorgi Sardalashvili won a gold medal in the 60 kg category, and Vazha Margvelashvili earned a bronze medal in the 66 kg category.
