Georgian judo team returns home after Paris Olympics

The Georgian judo team has returned to their homeland after participating in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

The fans, family members, and veteran judokas greeted them at Tbilisi International Airport. The assembled crowd showed their gratitude to the athletes for their outstanding performance and for representing Georgia with honour.

At the Paris Olympics, Georgian judokas secured three medals. Lasha Bekauri achieved Olympic champion status, while Ilia Sulamanidze and Tato Grigalashvili each earned silver medals.

The Georgian mixed judo team competed in the Olympic Games for the first time. They faced Italy in the round of 16 and narrowly lost with a score of 3-4.
