Georgian Health Minister hosts WHO Regional Director for Europe 

Georgian Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili hosted the WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge on Thursday.

The parties discussed the ongoing reforms in Georgia’s healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, the growth of the primary healthcare system, and the diagnosis-related group (DRG) funding model, according to the ministry’s press office.

Azarashvili pointed out that the DRG introduction aims to raise the calibre of medical services.

Kluge noted that the with DRG model, the financial security of the population increased, and the management of the medical institution improved, becoming more transparent.

The duo also discussed joint future plans and perspectives of cooperation.
