Georgian gov’t assisted 1,500 Georgian citizens to evacuate from Ukraine, Georgian MFA

On the instructions of the Georgian government, Georgian consulates assisted over 200 citizens in returning to Georgia from Ukraine in the last 24 hours. The Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared on Thursday.

“The organized transfer of Georgian citizens from Lviv to Warsaw is underway. The special bus services will operate daily until March 12. More than 400 citizens have been transported by a special flight so far. Georgian citizens are leaving Odessa in an organized manner as well.

On the instructions of the Government of Georgia, Georgian diplomatic missions in Ukraine and neighbouring countries are organizing the transfer of citizens from Ukraine to neighbouring countries and then their departure to Georgia. Up to 1,500 Georgian citizens have come back to Georgia from Ukraine so far”, the Ministry said in a statement.
