Georgian FM thanks his Armenian colleague for support of Georgian national football team

“Our Armenian brothers passionately supported the Georgian national football team at the European Championships, we are glad and we value this support,” said Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili at the joint briefing with his Armenian colleague, Ararat Mirzoyan.

Darchiashvili said it was a great honor for him to host his Armenian colleague and friend in Georgia, adding he hoped that Georgia and Armenia would successfully host the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

“Our visit coincided with Georgia’s proud days. The Georgian national football team won historic success at the European Championships. Our Armenian brothers passionately supported the Georgian national football team at the European Championships, and we are glad and we value this support.

Football Federations of Georgia and Armenia have recently and jointly applied to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup. I keep hope that our countries will hold this tournament successfully and our teams will succeed,” he said.
