Georgian FM: Panel discussion in Davos with PM's participation to focus on connecting Europe and Asia

Ilia Darchiashvili, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, informed journalists in Davos that Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is actively participating in various panel discussions as part of his visit to the World Economic Forum.

Darchiashvili emphasized the significance of these panel discussions as a valuable opportunity for Georgia to enhance its visibility and cooperation with global partners.

“The panel discussion in which the Prime Minister will take part will mainly focus on the regional topic of how to connect Europe and Asia. Georgia is in the most important geographical area. It has always been one of our key priorities to connect Europe and Asia, to be a country that is a sturdy bridge of this union,” explained Darchiashvili.

He stressed that the development of the middle corridor is a key priority in this endeavour.

“One of the main issues is that Georgia, as a country with EU candidate status, serves as an efficient and effective partner in fostering connections between Europe and Asia. We will spare no effort in the future to make Georgia a very reliable partner for our European partners, and on the other hand, to be a bridge and connection between the two continents,” Darchiashvili added.
