As part of her first official visit to the State of Israel, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
According to the ministry, the two ministers highlighted the long-standing historical and cultural ties between Georgia and Israel and discussed key issues of bilateral cooperation. Special emphasis was placed on prospects for strengthening trade and economic relations.
The discussion also touched on the current security environment in the region. Minister Botchorishvili welcomed the agreement reached between Israel and Hamas on the first phase of the Gaza peace plan, noting the significant efforts and personal contribution of the United States and President Trump in facilitating progress toward peace. She reaffirmed Georgia’s support for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue close cooperation through bilateral formats.
