Georgian FM meets Greek President

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Thursday met with the President of Greece, Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

As part of his official visit to Greece, FM Darchiashvili stressed the importance of mutual exchange of similar high-level visits and meetings to further strengthen the two nations’ longstanding friendship.

According to the Georgian MFA, Katerina Sakellaropoulou emphasized the centuries-old ties between the two countries and noted Greece’s steadfast support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. She also highlighted Greece’s special interest in the region.

Ilia Darchiashvili thanked the Greek side for supporting Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its European and Euro-Atlantic integration, reads the MFA statement.
