Georgian FM meets GID Co-Chairs

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Friday held a meeting with the Co-Chairs of the Geneva International Discussions (GID), Cihan Sultanoglu and Viorel Moșanu.

The dignitaries reviewed the issues of Russia-Georgia conflict resolution and the security environment in the region, said the Georgian MFA.

In this context, the officials highlighted the importance of using the GID format.

“The Minister drew attention to the security environment in the occupied regions of Georgia and along the occupation line, as well as the illegal actions of the occupation forces, which further complicates security, humanitarian and human rights situation on the ground.

The parties pledged to continue active efforts to implement GID effectively and solve the security and humanitarian problems facing the people,” the MFA said.
