Georgian FM meets German counterpart

The Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili met with Susanne Baumann, the Secretary of State at the German Federal Foreign Office, during the Munich Security Conference.

The discussions centered on Georgia’s European integration process, with a particular emphasis on the historic decision of the European Council to grant Georgia candidate status on December 14, 2023.

Minister Darchiashvili expressed gratitude for Germany’s firm support of Georgia’s European aspirations and highlighted the importance of continued support from partners and friends, particularly Germany.

The meeting also acknowledged the positive dynamics and close partnership in the bilateral relations between Georgia and Germany, emphasizing the significance of high-level visits.

Minister Darchiashvili thanked Germany for its steadfast support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
